Physical Therapy

At Core Concepts Physical Therapy & Pilates our goal is to optimize your recovery in the shortest amount of time so that you can return to all of your normal activities. To accomplish that goal, we offer one-on-one hands-on care incorporating dynamic exercises and innovative treatment approaches. Our physical therapists are trained in the latest techniques to offer you the highest level of service.

All patients entering physical therapy will receive a complete evaluation and assessment to determine current level of function. A plan of care will then be designed by the physical therapist.

Some of the common orthopedic conditions we treat include:

  • Neck and back pain
  • Joint pain and injuries
  • Pre- and post-surgical conditions
  • Overuse injuries
  • Sprains and strains
  • Sports related injuries

We also offer specialty therapy programs in the following areas:

Sports Rehabilitation: This program will help return the athlete, young or old, to their previous level of performance and beyond, while also focusing on injury prevention to avoid future damage. Working with a physical therapist and certified strength and conditioning specialist, you will work to improve your flexibility, strength, balance and coordination, speed and agility, and endurance to get back to playing the sports you love.

Pediatric Physical Therapy: We understand that treating children requires a specialized skill set. Our primary goal is to return the child to their normal activities—sports, daily activities, and being a kid! Our physical therapist has specialized training in pediatrics, birth through age 21. Some common pediatric conditions treated are: torticollis, idiopathic toe-walking, gross motor delay, sprains and strains, joint instability, pre- and post-operative conditions, and infant positioning.

Cancer Exercise Rehabilitation: This program has been designed to help cancer survivors overcome some of the many negative side effects of cancer treatments, such as fatigue, sleep disturbances, and pain. Research shows that exercise during and after cancer treatments can help to increase feelings of psychological well-being and quality of life, decrease weight/BMI, improve cardiorespiratory fitness, and decrease risk of cancer recurrence. All of which can help you lead a more active and healthy life. You will work one-on-one with your physical therapist and certified cancer exercise trainer, to build strength, increase flexibility, improve endurance, and build confidence. Group setting is available.

Vestibular Rehabilitation and Vertigo: With vestibular disorders you can experience symptoms of vertigo, dizziness, visual disturbances, and imbalances—all of which can limit your daily activities and quality of life. Vestibular rehab therapy is an exercise-based program designed by your physical therapist to improve balance and reduce dizziness. This program focuses on retraining the brain through habituation exercises, gaze stabilization, and balance training. For those suffering from Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), your therapist will determine the exact type of BPPV and treat you accordingly to relieve your symptoms.

Balance and Fall Prevention: This program has been designed to help lower the risk of falls, most commonly in the 65 and older population. Falls can lead to severe injuries which can decrease independence and quality of life. You will work one-on-one with your physical therapist to improve your balance and coordination, as well as strength and flexibility in order to help prevent falls and injuries. Group setting is available.

At Core Concepts Physical Therapy & Pilates we believe in treating the entire person, not just the injury.
